The Castle and historical gardens of the Counts of La Panouse feature cultural and botanical attractions, collections and events and a wildlife reserve. Full visit lasts from 3 hours to one day.

Medieval “Lifestyle” Castle and Garden tours with costumed guide. Audiovisual presentation on “Man and the Animals in the Middle Ages"

 

Eden Garden:an enchanting flower-filled collection of ornamental, aromatic, dye and condimentary plants known before 1450. Old Rose Garden, “Courtly Love Maze”. Introduction to ancient games: Giant Chessboard, bowls, croquet, hopscotch..

  

In season either Daturine, an Herborist reveals medieval culinary and medical secrets or Mag Mell the storyteller enchants visitors with tales of princesses and valiant knights. (Sundays and Bank Holidays in spring and in summer). Medieval games of skill & strategy.

  

Live Medieval Bestiary: lions (from April until 16th September),wolves,birds of prey, monkeys, bears, deer, animal feeding shows. Petting Farm. Walking through the bear park, imagine Gaston Phoebus sleeping with a tame bear. Shiver when the lions test their claws on the glass tunnel !
